The train from Alicante to Barcelona takes about five hours and costs about 60 euros.Alicante has about 340 000 habitants and lies directly at the Mediterranean sea. Benidorm located about 45 km northeast of Alicante. Benidorm originally a small fishing town on the coast of the Costa Blanca. Benidorm itself is comprised of the Old town and the New town. The old town is more typical of a Spanish town, with the local government, police station and post office, many shops, Spanish restaurants and tapas bars.
